If this is true, what a depressing development this is. Surely, women and men of good intention and open minds can avoid the trampling of freedom of expression and, in the process, fully respect all religions. A global - or Mediterranean - system of freedom of expression can only succeeed when each of us is able to say whatever we wish and each of us is able to pursue any or no religion of our individual choosing. Is that not a common platform to which we need to work harder to build among us?
