If I heard it right, the EU is considering a package of carrots to offer BOTH Israel and Palestine if the two of them can come to a peace agreement. That strikes me as a brilliant idea. The main offer appears to be reduced trade barriers, etc. Imagine if all countries in the world made the same offer, with a stick to accompany it - fail to reach agreement and we will raise barriers annually until you do!
