Syrian Artists Denied Visas, And A Voice In The U.S. : NPR

Note the Ambassador's comments toward the end. Are we getting enough reporting about the people of Syria and other Mediterranean countries so that we can approach the point of having empathy with them? Is that not a duty of news organizations to go well beyond the rip and read reports from press conferences and official sources and briefings?
